IOWA CITY, Iowa —
Iowa will finish out the 2023 football season with a different quarterback.
Senior quarterback Cade McNamara will miss the rest of the 2023 season with an ACL injury, head coach Kirk Ferentz confirmed Tuesday.
McNamara suffered an injury to his left leg and was carted off the field Saturday against Michigan State.
Deacon Hill replaced McNamara and threw for 115 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the 26-16 win against Michigan State.
Hill, a 6-foot-3, 258-pound sophomore transfer from Wisconsin, will get the start against Purdue. Sophomore Joe Labas is listed as the backup quarterback.
