West Ham United have reportedly looked into signing Kelechi Iheanacho from Leicester City this summer.
According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs – the first person to break the Lucas Paqueta to West Ham transfer – Hammers boss David Moyes has looked into signing the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The West Ham manager desperately needs to sign a centre-forward before the transfer window closes at 11pm tomorrow night.
The Hammers have been linked with the likes of Yuri Alberto, Youssef En-Nesyri and Hugo Ekitike, but another name is now doing the rounds.
And it seems as though Moyes could be prepared to dip into the Championship…
Surprise claim emerges about Kelechi Iheanacho as West Ham chase new striker
Ben Jacobs took to Twitter today to provide an update on the 26-year-old striker’s current situation with Leicester.
And the CBS journalist claimed that West Ham, Palace and Wolves are all interested in signing the £20 million-rated Nigerian:
Iheanacho has bagged 94 goals in 329 appearances for club and country (Transfermarkt).
He’s a decent player, but I really do think that Moyes would be far better served by signing either Ekitike or En-Nesyri.
If West Ham sign Kelechi Iheanacho, it wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world. However, £20 million seems like a lot of money for a player who has scored just nine Premier League goals over the past two seasons.
There are plenty of better options out there for West Ham as far as I’m concerned.
