Andrei Svechnikov Out For Carolina Hurricanes With Upper-Body Injury
The 24-year-old forward has 17 goals and 37 points in 52 games this season.

The Carolina Hurricanes were worried about players being unavailable due to illness tonight but instead forward Andrei Svechnikov has been ruled out from tonight’s game against the LA Kings due to an upper-body injury.

The Russian forward finished Thursday’s game and practiced with the team this morning but notably did not work with the power play units.

Svechnikov, 24, has 17 goals and 37 points in 52 games for Carolina this season and his absence will certainly leave a hole in the team’s top six.

In his place, forward Ryan Suzuki will play his second NHL game tonight.

Also returning for the Hurricanes will be Sebastian Aho and Taylor Hall who missed last game against the Chicago Blackhawks due to illness.

The Canes have multiple players dealing with a bug that has swept through the locker room currently, but it seems that all of them are going to try and tough it out tonight.

More information on Svechnikov’s status will be provided when made available.
