Soulfly has officially revealed Mike DeLeon of Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals as its new guitarist. DeLeon succeeds guitarist Marc Rizzo, who departed Soulfly in 2021. Soulfly has only said, “Welcome Mike DeLeon to the Soulfly Tribe!”
DeLeon is also no stranger to the Cavalera family, having performed with Max Calavera’s son Richie Cavalera’s band Incite in 2021.

JOHN DOLMAYAN, the drummer for System of a Down, is an inventor.
John Dolmayan, the drummer for System of a Down, has recently added to his considerable record by stepping into the world of creation. Dolmayan is well-known for his diverse interests outside of music. He has been heavily involved in the comics industry, managing his own Torpedo Comics shop and writing various comics.
Now, Dolmayan has proudly presented his first patent: a reusable, app-oriented shipping container with increased security measures that require many layers of authentication to gain access.
The patent describes a “shipping container with numerous multi-factor authentication (MFA) tie-ins to increase container security.” In some cases, the shipping container is coupled with a mobile user profile within a mobile application. A retailer makes a sale and then uses a mobile application to associate the container with the destination location and the MFA information connected with the buyer’s mobile application account. Once loaded, the container will not open again until the buyer uses their MFA authentication credentials.”
Dolmayan expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, saying: “So pleased to acquire my first patent! It’s a long process, but becoming an inventor has been extremely gratifying in many ways! This is a reusable, rechargeable, and entirely secure shipping container that may be used instead of cardboard boxes. It has the potential to eliminate large quantities of waste and applies to all elements of delivery, including food and collectibles.
It is unclear at this point what the production timeframe for Dolmayan’s creative container will be, but credit to him for delving into something so far apart from music.
