Leeds have a deal in place with Chelsea to sign the Wales centre-back on a permanent deal this summer.
The Whites have agreed to pay a fee of £7m and another £3m in add-ons based on his appearances and performances at Leeds.
Leeds are now racing towards getting the deal over the line and securing Ampadu’s signature on a permanent contract.
It has been claimed that the Welshman is on his way to Leeds where he will undergo a medical with the Championship club.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue as Leeds close in on completing the deal to sign Ampadu.
Leeds are hopeful of sorting out all the formalities today and finalising his transfer quickly.
Ampadu spent last season on loan in Italy at Spezia and has earned 43 international caps for Wales.
He will become Leeds’ first signing under new full owners the 49ers.
