Postecoglou winning his first game in his home country of Australia would have felt fitting but West Ham spoiled the party.

Danny Ings and Divin Mubama put West Ham 2-0 up only for Tottenham to hit back through Giovani Lo Celso and Destiny Udogie.

West Ham still won it though as Gianluca Scamacca slotted home the winner for David Moyes’ side.

It’s only a friendly, but Moyes and co will be delighted to have beaten Spurs and soaked up plenty of pressure.

Spurs had 32 shots compared to West Ham’s seven, as well as 13 shots on target compared to West Ham’s four.

West Ham took their chances when they came but they also had goalkeeper Fabianski to thank.

The veteran Pole made some crucial saves as he played the full 90 minutes, denying Oliver Skipp, Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma and Manor Solomon twice in the first half.

Fabianski was beaten twice in the second half but his performance ensured that West Ham ended up winners in Perth.

New Spurs signing Solomon was twice denied by Fabianski and moved to congratulate him after the game.

Speaking to Tottenham’s official media channels, Solomon noted that it was a shame that he couldn’t score on his Spurs debut.

Solomon then turned to Fabianski, praising him for a man of the match performance in the West Ham goal.

“It’s a shame I didn’t score this one, but it’s okay, I’ll work on this stuff,” said Solomon. “He made a great save, he was man of the match, so congratulations to him,” he added.
