Next position revealed Daniel Farke wants to bolster his squad with a fresh Leeds United signing – Report

Daniel Farke and Leeds United are looking to sign a new full-back next after bringing in Ethan Ampadu for £7million this week.

Leeds’ transfer business is finally up and running with incomings, after the announcement that Ethan Ampadu had joined from Chelsea for £7million plus add-ons.

He is the first to join, but certainly won’t be the last with the club aiming to bring in multiple key signings to rebuild the side after relegation.

What signing is next for Leeds?

WalesOnline are reporting that, despite Leeds’ concrete interest in Swansea striker Joel Piroe, the club are not actually prioritising a striker right now.

That is because it’s claimed that a move for a new full-back is on the cards first and foremost:

“Leeds United have also now registered an interest, although it’s understood the striker isn’t currently their primary focus in this window, with Elland Road chiefs believed to be prioritising the capture of a wing-back.”

Who might the club be looking to sign?

Links to full-backs haven’t been that strong of late, with The Athletic’s Phil Hay sharing previously that Charlie Taylor is on the shortlist.

He was on the list alongside Ryan Manning, but the released Swansea man swiftly reunited with Russell Martin by joining Southampton.

A full-back is needed, in particular a left-sided one, with Junior Firpo sure to be leaving – meaning we have no naturals for the position.

Leo Hjelde looked competent there against Man United when he inverted to help in build-up, and someone of that ilk could be a smart move.

Taylor might be a smart move in that sense then, given his work under Vincent Kompany, but perhaps someone younger makes sense.
