Report: Rangers and English club are engaged in a transfer war over a 24-year-old player.

Rangers transfer update emerges amid links to Arsenal defender Auston Trusty

Rangers are reportedly in a transfer battle with Ipswich Town to secure the services of Arsenal defender Auston Trusty.

According to the East Anglian Daily Times [12 July], the EFL has joined Gers in the pursuit of the 24-year-old.

He joined from Colorado Rapids for a fee in the region of £1.5million in January 2022 before immediately being loaned back to the MLS side.

Can win this

While Ipswich can offer him a chance to prove himself in England and eventually show he’s ready for the Premier League, he clearly deserves a better move.

At Rangers, he can play European and maybe even Champions League football, and have the chance to challenge for titles.

Rangers

It does appear to be a no brainer and Ipswich’s financial situation isn’t the best either so Gers can perhaps offer him good wages.

With Jonathan Panzo not yet done, Michael Beale knows that it makes sense to have backups in place in case his Plan A does not work.

Trusty will be desperate for regular first-team minutes so it’s evident that he will be leaving Arsenal in order to achieve that.

It remains to be seen how much the deal will end up costing Gers this summer.
