Report: Striker have reject a move to Leeds United under one condition

Swansea City forward Joel Piroe is reportedly ready to turn down the chance to move to Leeds United and play for Daniel Farke at Elland Road.

According to The Sun (print edition, page 59, July 30, 2023), Leeds United are interested in signing Joel Piroe from Swansea City in the summer transfer window.

Leicester City are also reported to be keen on Piroe.

Both Leeds and Leicester will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

Piroe is reportedly happy to stay at Swansea next season and then move to Italy on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that a club in Serie A are interested in the 23-year-old striker and are ready to wait for him for a year.

Piroe is under contract at Swansea until the summer of 2024.

Potential Joel Piroe transfer blow for Leeds United

In our opinion, if Joel Piroe wants to move to Italy next summer and is ready to see out his contract at Swansea City, then it is hard to see Leeds United change his mind.

Yes, Leeds are a big club that will be aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship table next season.

But, if the Dutchman wants to go to Serie A next summer, then it is unlikely that he will be too keen on a move to Leeds now.

After all, it would be easier for the striker to move to the unnamed Serie A club next summer on a free transfer than to persuade Leeds to sell him at the end of next season.

Moreover, there is no guarantee that Leeds will end up in the top two of the Championship table next season.

Piroe made 43 appearances in the Championship last season.

The striker scored 19 goals and gave two assists in those games.
