JUST IN: Wolves’ manager reveals a star player’s injury that Wrexham is eyeing.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Lisandro Martinez picked up an injury against Wolves.

Manchester United Football Club had been preparing all summer for last night against Wolves, though it’s fair to say the game, on the whole, was disappointing.

Erik ten Hag will be happy to escape with the three points despite his team not being at their best. No doubt he’ll be putting his players through their paces in training this week.

At half-time of the Wolves game, Lisandro Martinez was subbed off. Many assumed it was due to the fact that he was on a booking. Instead, the gaffer has since confirmed that the United player picked up an injury vs Wolves, described as a ‘little problem’ to his ankle.

Thankfully, the gaffer doesn’t think it’s a ‘big deal’, but he will be checked on this week ahead of the Spurs game on Saturday evening.

Check out what the gaffer had to say on the Lisandro Martinez injury vs Wolves here:
“A little problem on his ankle, tendon,” Ten Hag is reported as saying by The Evening Standard. “We’ll see but I don’t think it’s a big deal. We’ll see how he is this week.”

The ankle trouble could explain a sub-par first half by Licha, who looked a yard off it at times. There were some nice moments from the Argentine, but the bar he has set is so high, any minor drop-off will be picked up on by the fans.

That said, I think we can all agree that Martinez is one of the first names on the team sheet for our best starting line-up. Games will be much tougher without him, despite the fact that Victor Lindelof came in and did a decent job in that second half.

The last thing United need is to be without Licha for any prolonged period of time, but thankfully, the gaffer doesn’t seem too worried. We’re going to need him against Spurs on Saturday if we stand any chance at winning all three points.
