Report: Tottenham could now just terminate £100,000-a-week player’s contract

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly just let Hugo Lloris leave on a free this summer.

According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are considering terminating the contract of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Lloris is under contract at Tottenham until the end of next season.

Spurs are reportedly considering terminating Lloris’s contract so that the French goalkeeper can find a new club as a free agent.

The Times has added that Lloris’s proposed move to Serie A club Lazio has collapsed.

Tottenham Hotspur should just let Hugo Lloris leave

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has already said that he does not plan to use Hugo Lloris in his squad this season.

The £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) 36-year-old is past his prime, and it is time for the former Lyon star to move on.

Guglielmo Vicario joined Tottenham in the summer transfer window and is now the number one goalkeeper at the North London club.

Fraser Forster is an option for Spurs head coach Postecoglou, who also has Alfie Whiteman at his disposal.

It does not make sense for Lloris to stay at Tottenham anymore.

Tottenham are not going to get much transfer fee for the goalkeeper.

Perhaps Spurs pay off Lloris’s final year of the contract and let him do whatever he wants to.

Lloris has been superb for Tottenham over the years and has been loyal to the club.

It is time that Spurs do the right thing with Lloris.
