‘Breaking transfer news’: Sky Sports News have just delivered update about Brennan Johnson

Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is set for fresh talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 22-year-old winger has been linked with a move to North London all window, but no bid for the Welsh international has been lodged from Ange Postecoglou’s side.

However, Thomas Frank and his Brentford side have had two bids rejected for the Forest Academy graduate, with the latest bid tallying £43 million.

Johnson could yet still stay at the City Ground, however, a move to Tottenham hasn’t been ruled out with just one day left in the transfer window.

Sky Sports’ update on Brennan Johnson

It was announced on Sky Sports News earlier this hour that Johnson was set for further talks with Spurs over a move to the club.

“Breaking transfer news involving Brennan Johnson, a target for a number of clubs including Brentford and Tottenham.

“The breaking news is that Tottenham are set to hold further talks with Nottingham Forest today about Brennan Johnson.

“He’s been a top target for Tottenham this summer. Forest boss Steve Cooper said earlier today that ‘if anything is going to happen, then we are getting closer to that time’. He said there is ‘no official news but we carry on as normal.’

“However, Spurs are set to hold fresh talks later today.”

As previously mentioned, the Reds are holding out or £50 million for Johnson and won’t entertain any bids less than that figure for the 22-year-old.

However, with just a day left in the window, Forest need to have a replacement lined up just in case Tottenham match his valuation and Johnson departs the City Ground.
