Wolves ended up having a fairly strong transfer window despite concerns throughout the window.
The moves made sees various positions strengthened while they managed to keep hold of most important players.
The sale of Matheus Nunes while bad on paper has ended up a blessing in disguise for Wolves as it enabled the late window moves.
Despite us praising the window from the perspective following its closure, it is important to note that there was a time when the window seemed destined to be terrible for the Molineux side.
This saw Wolves unable to make moves for several players missing out on Alex Scott for example and should be taken into account when grading the window.
It would be easy to judge it purely on the signings made, but here is our verdict on the summer window.
Incomings at Wolves graded
Matheus Cunha’s loan being made permanent is one we are including in this. He has been superb thus far in the season despite winning only one game. The only negative we see is his price which ate most of the original budget. 7/10
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde only joined on deadline day, however we think he will pretty quickly establish himself as the best midfielder at the club. 8/10
Santiago Bueno is another who joined late in the window, and while he is an impressive defender, it feels very much like option two with Nico Elvedi unattainable. 6/10
Boubacar Traore also saw his loan become permanent as he joined from FC Metz. The jury is out on Traore for now, he undoubtedly has potential but needs to start showing it. 7/10
Enso Gonzalez is one we are extremely excited for, it screams of a Brighton signing. He arrives at just 18-years-old so will require some patience but no doubt he has lots of potential and for the price, it is low risk high reward. 8/10
Tommy Doyle has arrived from Manchester City on-loan however the club will have a chance to buy him next summer as it is included as a clause. He is a brilliant talent, however the 50% sell-on should we sell is a little annoying. 7/10
Matt Doherty is back where he made his name, and we feel his importance will be felt off the pitch more than on the pitch. Delighted to have him back especially for free. 8/10
Tom King will only ever be a third or fourth choice keeper, so his signing makes sense but we aren’t particularly bothered about it. 6/10
Overall verdict: 7/10 – Wolves saved the window late on with a flurry of incomings which we think will have a huge income.
Outgoings at Wolves graded
Wolves sold heavily this summer with Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves and Nathan Collins all leaving for big money.
Conor Coady, Raul Jimenez and Ryan Giles all departed too as the new era was ushered in.
Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho left on free transfers too which further emphasised that there’s a new era at Wolves.
