Nottingham Forest wants an 18-year-old Celtic gem, but he rejects contract negotiations

In the near future, Nottingham Forest may have a fantastic opportunity to capture Celtic sensation Rocco Vata. The man who recently made his Republic of Ireland U21 debut scored twice, and the Reds are eager to sign him.

The player appears ready to part ways with Celtic. According to Team Talk, the player is getting ready to go and has no desire to sign a new contract with the Scottish champions.

RB Leipzig are also monitoring the situation; with Premier League duo Brentford and Bournemouth also in the background.

This is big news from a Forest perspective. The club had a bid turned down in the summer, with Celtic demanding £350,000 for the talented teenager.

Vata, a player with ties to the Forest, continued his excellent season earlier this month on the international scene. He got two goals as San Marino was defeated 3-0.

The 18-year-old has come through the ranks at Celtic. He’s making a brilliant impact and has scored seven times in six Lowland League games this season.

Forest were desperately keen to sign Vata in the summer. It’s likely that Ross Wilson had an impact on that interest but the bid was rejected.

Now, the player could be available even cheaper in January or even better, free next summer when his contract expires.

Forest targeting move for Vata

Ireland fans hail 'incredible talent' Rocco Vata but question 'really strange' situation at Celtic - Irish Mirror Online

At 18-years-old, the player has an abundance of talent. He’s scored goals in youth football and it already looks as though he’s going to be a star.

Vata will be wanted by Celtic for many years but they look unlikely to hold onto him. With bigger clubs now vying for his services, he looks unlikely to pen a new deal with the club.

Even with a £350,000 price tag, it still looks like a good deal to me. It would provide the Forest academy with a potential future hero, and he might turn out to be a great steal.

He appears destined to compete at the highest level in the future. Given his current contractual status, the Reds may see this as the ideal time to sign the young player.
