Everton beat two PL rivals in race to sign £30m striker as Chelsea dealt transfer blow

Chelsea seems to be having a goal drought this year, so any Blues supporters may not want to hear what Fabrizio Romano had to say about a deal they might have made in the summer that would have given them a lot more punch up front.

The Twitter transfer guru claimed in his Caught Offside column that Chelsea had made an attempt to sign 18-year-old wonderkid Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge, and given that the wand-wielding little left winger, affectionately known as “The Norwegian Messi” by people who aren’t very good at coining nicknames, has already scored a few fantastic goals for club and country this season as well as picking up two assists at the weekend, it’s starting to

To be fair, it appears that the player decided to remain in Belgium for one another year, however you can easily assume that with the type of contract offers Todd Boehly like to make, they would have been able to persuade him otherwise had they put more effort into it. They are one of “four or five” clubs that could make a move next summer, and if he keeps playing as he has been lately, that number will increase.

Manchester City set to sign 16-year-old West Ham youngster Divine Mukasa

Divine inspiration for the city

Speaking of Premier League powerhouses snatching up youthful talent, it appears that Manchester City and West Ham United have reached an agreement to bring England Under-17 international Divine Mukasa to the Etihad on a long-term basis.

Once again, Fabrizio has the inside information on this, albeit in his native social media setting. Apparently, the signing of Mukasa will be completed and revealed within the next 48 hours. Romano’s post even includes a shady altered image of the player, who only turned 16 last month, sporting a City uniform, a necessary component of every transfer rumor in today’s day and age.

The 3AM Verdict: We can’t really comment on this one because Mukasa hasn’t played a senior match and probably won’t for at least a year or two, but it will be upsetting for West Ham fans that their academy, which has always had a stellar reputation, is now losing players to Premier League rivals. As if the weekend’s 3-1 loss to City wasn’t horrible enough.

Premier League teams monitor PSG’s striker

Hugo Ekitiké of Paris Saint-Germain, who was essentially told he was unwanted by new manager Luis Enrique just a few weeks ago, has decided to make one last attempt at breaking into the French club’s first team after the collapse of his proposed move to Crystal Palace at the end of the transfer window.

The former Reims striker would think about moving in January if he is unsuccessful in persuading the Spaniard to change his mind. Several Premier League clubs have him on their shopping lists. Presumably, you go to Ekitiké Maxx if you want to purchase a French forward from PSG. I’ll be here all week, thanks. Go after the fish. As for the teams keeping him in mind for the January sales, 90min names Everton, West Ham, Brentford, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 3AM Verdict: Ekitiké only scored three goals in his one season with PSG, which is a disappointing performance for a 21-year-old who attracted significant attention during his time at Reims the season prior. The rangy forward has a lot of nice qualities, including a good finisher, but is plainly out of sorts right now. For any of the numerous teams in the English top tier in need of strikers, he may be a good acquisition, albeit a dangerous one.
