UPDATE Tottenham reveal strong statement as major news is announced ahead of the match against Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur’s forthcoming match against Liverpool will be without Ivan Perisic, who has been declared out for the remainder of the season.

The 34-year-old sustained an ACL tear in practice and will need surgery. Perisic has started all six games for Tottenham Hotspur, who are now second in the Premier League league. Spurs, though, will be unable to call on the seasoned Croatia international when the Reds visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, September 30.

“We can confirm that Ivan Perisic has suffered a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee,” the Spurs announced in a statement.
