Nottingham Forest have responded to what Pep Guardiola said about them ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Manchester City.
The Reds tweeted a greeting to the Citizens.

What’s the story?
Well, the Spaniard was keen to express the significance of Saturday’s encounter at the Etihad Stadium, mentioning that Nottingham Forest are two-time European champions.
That is – of course – true, although some have accused Guardiola of being sarcastic, as it’s not exactly relevant nowadays.
Nottingham Forest won their two European Cups in 1979 and 1980.
According to Sky Sports, Guardiola, who earns £378,846 a week, said: “We have Nottingham Forest.” So, two Champions League winners. They have more Champions League titles than we have. This is the truth; I’m not making this up.”
Nottingham Forest have now responded, and many in attendance at the City Ground do not appear to have taken the words as a mocking jab.
When responding to footage of Guardiola speaking following Tuesday’s 3-1 UEFA Champions League triumph against Red Star Belgrade, Steve Cooper’s side simply posted “respect” on Twitter.

Nottingham Forest could be a potential banana skin for Manchester City
While some might expect Manchester City to wipe the floor with Nottingham Forest – which Guardiola’s side are certainly capable of doing – Cooper’s men have proven to be a tough nut to crack so far this season.
Nottingham Forest have already defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and went 2-0 up against Manchester United at Old Trafford before Erik ten Hag’s side fought back to win 3-2.
The Reds also gave Arsenal a tough time in their 2-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium in August.
Of course, Manchester City have some of the best players around, but the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White are capable of causing the Citizens all kinds of problems if they bring their A-games to the Etihad Stadium.
