‘Very, very good,’ says Rob Edwards of Wolves star after 1-1 draw

Wolves  drew 1-1 with Luton Town yesterday – and Rob Edwards singled out Pedro Neto for praise after the game.

Wanderers became the only side not to beat the Hatters so far in the Premier League this season.

It was a poor performance from Wolves, who

It was a dominant display, made possible in part thanks to a silly red card for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

His tangle on the ground with Tom Lockyer resulted in him being dismissed, and Wolves then had a huge job on their hands.

But they took the lead through an outstanding goal from Neto, before a very controversial decision saw Luton score an equaliser from the penalty spot

After the game, former Wolves player and coach Edwards had some nice words for the winger…

Rob Edwards piles praise on Pedro Neto after his goal and performance for Wolves vs Luton

Edwards was also likely to deal some praise to a Wolves player if one warranted it, due to his connection with the club.

And Neto was the man he singled out in his post-match interview for Luton’s official website.

Suggesting the red card gave Wolves more ‘fight’, he said (via Luton official): “I’m disappointed in how he conceded the goal. But in saying that, Neto I think is very, very good. We’d highlighted him clearly before the game. He’s someone that can change a game in an instant. He did that. He’s a really, really top international footballer.”

Neto recently fought his way back into the Portugal squad as a result of his bright start with Wolves.

He got around 30 minutes against Slovakia, which was his first national team appearance since March 2021.

Neto looking fantastic for Wolves

A lot has been said about Neto so far this season for the impact he’s made in the final third.

Four assists and a goal in a fairly toothless team is impressive going.

But it’s also been really good to see how fit and sharp Neto has looked off the ball.

He seems to have a huge amount of energy right now, and his work rate has been very noticeable.
