Report: Everton have signing £26m Brazilian youngster,  

Everton are interested in signing Gabriel Moscardo.

According to IG Esporte, the Toffees, Newcastle United, and Nottingham Forest have all made approaches to recruit the Corinthians youngster.

Moscardo joined Corinthians youth set-up in 2017 and went onto make his senior debut in Brazil in July 2023.

The 17-year-old has now made 14 senior appearances and has attracted interest from the Premier League, with Chelsea previously trying to sign him.

However, the Blues will face competition this time around, with Everton rumoured to be one team keen to sign him. According to the report, Barcelona is mulling a move for the teenager.

The Premier League clubs are reported to have been turned off by his high price tag, though Chelsea could easily match it if they choose to try again in the new year.It is unknown what Everton has included in their proposal, but it would be unexpected if they paid such a high fee.

Sean Dyche’s team will not want to compete with Chelsea and Newcastle United, both of whom would easily outbid Everton in a bidding war. Barcelona could be a highly appealing destination for Moscardo, yet their financial position may make it tough.

However, the Toffees may be hoping that their takeover is finalized by the January transfer window so that their potential new owners can put some cash into their coffers.
