Fabrizio reveal Wolves v Man City update about injury as four ruled out and three doubts

Wolves and Manchester City will look to bounce back from their Carabao Cup exits when they meet in the Premier League at Molineux.

Both teams were eliminated from the League Cup by Ipswich Town and Newcastle United, respectively, and will now continue their league campaigns, where they will most likely revert to their strongest lineups.

Both Gary O’Neil and Pep Guardiola are dealing with injuries and suspensions, so there’s a lot to get through. The main question will be if Matheus Nunes, who joined the league champions for £53 million, will play his former club.

With that in mind, here is the most recent injury and team news ahead of Wolves’ match against Manchester City.

Team news from the Wolves

Jean-Ricner Bellegare has been suspended following his dismissal against Luton Town. Gary O’Neil was unconcerned about the decision and said that the £12.8 million sining apologized to him and his teammates.

Tommy Doyle will miss out since he is ineligible to play against his parent club. When he was playing for Sheffield United, he was not allowed to play against them in the FA Cup semi-final.

The 21-year-old has made two substitute appearances so far, against Liverpool and Luton Town, before making his first start against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night. He will have to watch from the stands as his loan club and parent club clash.

Wolves have been relatively injury-free, with the only player in question being Joe Hodge. He injured his hamstring over a month ago against Blackpool, but he was an unused replacement at Portman Road on Tuesday night. Wolves may have been careful with the midfielder or selected different individuals.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Tommy Doyle are out. Joe Hodge is in doubt.

Manchester City squad news

The Citizens are missing Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring), who suffered an injury against Burnley in their first Premier League match. He has a’serious injury’ and will be out for at least a few months, but they have been able to continue their strong form despite his absence.

Bernardo Silva is questionable for this weekend’s match after limping off against Red Star Belgrade. He was expected to be out for a week or ten days after missing the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

John Stones (hip) is questionable after suffering an injury last month. He appeared in the Community Shield final and was an unused replacement against Sevilla, but he has missed all six of City’s Premier League games.

Pep Guardiola ruled him out until after the last international break, but time is running out with mid-October approaching. Stones is regarded as’more or less there’ by assistant Juanma Lillo, and Wolves could be an opportunity for him to return.

Man City will be without Rodri, not due to injury, but due to suspension for a fight with Morgan Gibbs-White. He sat out the 1-0 loss to Newcastle United, and this is the second game of his suspension.

Mateo Kovacic returned to action on Wednesday night after being out with an injury. He played 68 minutes, and while he is unlikely to miss the game, doubts will be raised about his readiness to play a full 90 minutes after a recent knock.

Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri are out. Bernardo Silva and John Stones are both in doubt.
