Simon Jordan reveals Tottenham considering a move to sign free agent this morning

Simon Jordan has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford during the forthcoming transfer window.

In recent months, the 27-year-old has been widely linked with a move away from the Gtech Community Stadium. Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be interested in signing the striker during the winter transfer window, although Spurs are also said to be interested.

The Bees’ manager, Thomas Frank, has indicated that the club is eager to cash in on Toney in January because the striker is ready to take the next step in his career and they want at least £60 million to let their star man leave.

Jordan has now revealed on talkSPORT that Toney is expected to go in January and that it is extremely rare for a top-level striker such as him to be available in mid-season.

Toney would be a great addition to Tottenham’s frontline, according to the commentator, and they should aim to buy him in January. However, if they choose to acquire his signature, Richarlison’s future will be jeopardized.

Tottenham to Toney

Jordan stated:

“He [Toney] is leaving because it is extremely rare to see a top-class centre-forward become available in the January transfer window.” So that little beast is a one-of-a-kind. For Tottenham, I like him a lot. He would be a Tottenham signing, but it is unclear what would happen to Richarlison in that regard.”

Spurs have recently been investigating the potential of signing a new striker to replace Harry Kane, who left the club this summer. Several names have been mooted as prospective Tottenham targets, with Toney suddenly emerging as a viable option.

After being found guilty of violating betting laws, the 27-year-old was barred from playing football for eight months. He won’t be allowed to return to play until January of next year, so it will be intriguing to see if he can perform at his best when he returns after such a long hiatus.

Nonetheless, Toney has demonstrated his goal-scoring ability in the Premier League, and he would be a fantastic signing for Spurs if they can beat Arsenal and Chelsea to his signature next year.
