Fans in tears as Celtic confirmed the death of great player recently

Former Celtic attacker Frank McGarvey has died at the age of 66 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, with tributes from the Hoops, Liverpool, and St Mirren.

Frank McGarvey, a Celtic legend, died last October at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

McGarvey, who was born in Glasgow, joined St Mirren in 1975 and stayed for four years before leaving for £270,000 to join Liverpool.

He left Merseyside without making a first-team appearance the following year to join boyhood heroes Celtic, where he won two league crowns, two Scottish Cups, and a League Cup.

His final appearance for Celtic was in the 1985 Scottish Cup final, which Celtic won 2-1 at Hampden Park.
