If Mo Salah departs Anfield, Wolves could face a surprise push from Liverpool for Pedro Neto next year.

In Wolves’ first seven Premier League games, the Portuguese wide man has five assists and one goal.

And it’s been wonderful to witness, given his injury issues over the last few years.

But Wolves fans are well aware that Neto’s form will lead to transfer speculation.

And yesterday, a rather bold assertion was made concerning the 23-year-old…

Of course, near the close of the last transfer window, the Egyptian was pursued by Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.

A massive deal of £150 million was reportedly rejected.

Salah eventually stayed, although there is speculation that they, or other Saudi teams, may come knocking again.

Salah’s current deal with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2025.

As a result, Liverpool may not want to allow the player to enter his final year and sell.

Neto is reportedly on their radar as a possible replacement if he is sold.

Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and Aston Villa are also thought to have interested in Neto.

The reported Liverpool interest in Neto is cause for concern.

In the next months, we’ll see if there are any additional stories claiming Liverpool’s interest in Neto.

But, if the Reds are serious, Wolves will have a problem.

They are one of the most powerful clubs in the world, and Neto may be persuaded to join them, especially if they return to the Champions League next season.

Salah’s departure would very certainly imply that Neto would become a regular starter.

Wolves fans have seen the club do business with Liverpool previously, with Diogo Jota leaving in the summer of 2020 for £45 million.

Fans would want to believe Neto will not follow in the footsteps of his former teammate. They could, however, come calling with a large sum of money from a Salah sale.
