Sad news as Pittsburgh Steelers reveal superstar who just pass away

Clark Haggans, a former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker and Super Bowl champion in 2005, died of an unknown cause.

Clark Haggans, 46, the former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker and Super Bowl XL champion, has died, according to Collin Dunlap of 93.7 The Fan.

There is no known cause of death for Haggans, and it is unknown where he lived when he died. LexisNexis discovered an address in Florida for the former fifth-round pick during a search.

The California native and father of two children played 13 seasons in the NFL, eight of which he spent in Pittsburgh.

He had his best season in 2005, when he sacked Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck nine times in Pittsburgh’s 21-10 Super Bowl victory.

Haggans is currently involved in the charity and real estate sectors.

Haggans will primarily collaborate with his teammate Joey Porter Jr., who previously played outside linebacker for the Steelers and Colorado State.

According to Haggans Steelersnow.com in 2019, “I was happy that I was selected – and that I could see Joey with open arms.” It would have been appropriate for them to perform the song Reunited.

Drafted in 2000, a year after Steelers Porter was hired, Haggans played regularly in his second season and began his fifth as one of the finest passrushers under legendary defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau.

With the exception of a three-week suspension, everything went well for Haggans in 2005. He had sacks in each of his first four games and finally beat Hasselbeck on the first drive of Super Bowl XL, which Steelers fans still remember.

When we won the Holiday Bowl at Colorado State, it was the best thing that had ever happened to us. We took home the Super Bowl as a team.

In 2008, Haggans signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals and helped half of his new team win Super Bowl XLIII, but he lost 27-23 to his former team, the Steelers.

He would play three more seasons in Arizona before completing his career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2012 at the age of 35.

Haggans took part in the Black Out Child Abuse Campaign in 2012, a non-profit that assists families in need. In 2019, the father of two stated that he was focusing on a career in real estate while also focusing on his children.

“I’m just a father,” he explained. I’m just grateful and privileged to have saved enough money for my children to do what makes them happy.
