Celtics players’ first impressions of Jrue Holiday.

Boston will look very different next season after acquiring Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis over the summer.

To get the Unicorn (aka Porzingis), the C’s gave up long-time member Marcus Smart.

It was a huge loss for the squad, but former Bucks guard Holiday, who is also considered one of the NBA’s greatest defenders, has recently joined the team.

Celtics forward Jayson Tatum showed his excitement about playing with Holiday during Media Day.

“Jrue’s a great player, and a great person,” Tatum told NBC Sports Boston. “I had the honor of being a member of the same Olympic team two years ago.” We received a gold medal. He’s definitely won a championship, and he’s as popular in this league as anyone else.

Just his demeanor and ability to play on both sides of the field. [We are] really fortunate to have him.”

Tatum’s co-star, Jaylen Brown, commended Jrue and expressed enthusiasm to play with the 2021 champion.

“Jrue is fantastic,” Brown gushed. “I hold a high esteem for Jrue as someone I’ve had to defend.

“You can sense his ferocity when he plays.” He’s just so consistent. He’s a competitor. He’s a serial killer.”

Holiday was named to his second All-Star team last season, and his offense is a weapon in addition to being a great defender.

The 33-year-old averaged 19.3 points, 7.4 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game on 47.9 percent shooting and 38.4 percent from deep.

“It’s pretty unbelievable watching him go through workouts and play,” Horford said.

“I’ve played against him over the years, but when you look at him, he’s really 7-foot-3.” Maybe even a little taller.”

Since adding Holiday to the roster, the Celtics have risen to share the title odds with the Bucks.

There has been a lot of movement this offseason, particularly among skilled veterans, which might lead to an entertaining NBA season. Bring it on the 24th of October.
