Jrue Holiday Makes An Honest Admission About Joining Celtics

The power balance in the NBA shifted when the Milwaukee Bucks landed Damian Lillard, so the Boston Celtics made sure to respond quickly.

In order to bolster their roster, the Celtics landed Jrue Holiday in a blockbuster trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, solidifying their backcourt and giving them one of the best defenders in the NBA.

As soon as Milwaukee traded Holiday to Portland, it was widely expected that he would be re-routed and Boston wasted no time adding his services.

The Celtics had to ship out Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon, and draft assets to the Blazers but the cost was well worth it considering what Holiday can do for a contending team.

With Holiday on board, Boston has one of the deepest and most talented rosters in the NBA and look like they’ll be on a collision course with Milwaukee come playoff time.

Holiday recently joined the team before media day and made an admission about being a Celtic via NBA TV.

“Growing up in L.A. as a Laker fan, I know a lot of my family’s probably hurt,” Holiday said.

A Los Angeles native, Holiday, like numerous people in Southern California, grew up watching the Lakers and joining the so-called enemy must be bringing about mixed feelings.

Los Angeles fans are probably just as upset to see Holiday land with their arch-rivals, though at least they won’t have to worry about him in the Western Conference.

Despite his new allegiance to Boston, Holiday should be a productive player for them and will play a large role in helping them capture the franchise’s 18th championship.
