Daniel Farke made four changes to his starting lineup for Wednesday night’s match against Queens Park Rangers, bringing in Luke Ayling, Joe Rodon, Archie Gray, and full debutant Jaidon Anthony.
Captain Liam Cooper, Glen Kamara, and Dan James all fell to the bench after last Saturday’s humiliating 3-1 loss at Southampton, while Jamie Shackleton was ruled out due to a shoulder injury sustained in training.
Leeds came back from the Saints setback with a 1-0 win against the Rs, and Farke must now decide whether to make changes after fielding a winning squad for the trip to St Mary’s but eventually seeing his Whites lose. That is an obvious major question mark, and Patrick Bamford’s spectacular re-emergence is another essential factor to consider.
Bamford made his second appearance after recovering from a hamstring injury as a second-half substitute in Wednesday’s triumph over QPR, and he made an immediate impression. Only three days later, we believe Leeds will line up against Bristol City. Junior Firpo, Djed Spence, Willy Gnonto, and Stuart Dallas are still out as they recuperate from injuries.
