NEWS FLASH: The Warriors have officially signed a new player.

The Golden State Warriors have added a new player to their roster.

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to terms with rookie forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. According to Wojnarowski, Golden State has signed Jackson-Davis to a four-year contract, two of which are guaranteed.

Jackson-Davis played four seasons at Indiana, averaging 17.9 points per game overall and 20.9 points per game in his last season. Jackson-Davis garnered various distinctions for his 2022-23 season after averaging a double-double and 10.8 RPG in his final season at Indiana.

It’s always reassuring when clubs can reach an agreement with their newly picked rookies, and the Warriors have at least two guaranteed years with Jackson-Davis, with years three and four being non-guaranteed.

In Summer League, the Warriors will get a good look at Jackson-Davis, which is a terrific opportunity for young players to show their organizations what they are capable of. While Golden State hopes to contend next season, which means there won’t be many opportunities for young players, they still want to position themselves well for the future, which makes the draft crucial.

The Warriors have made several moves this summer, most recently adding Cory Joseph, but they will likely need at least one more acquisition to feel confident about their rotation heading into next season. The Warriors, who were clearly a piece or two short last season, are intent on entering next season with a better squad.
