Newcastle are one of the teams interested in signing Wolves winger Pedro Neto, according to TEAMtalk, and regard him as a strong alternative to bring in, with Wolves eager to cash in. They are far from alone in their interest, with Liverpool and Arsenal initially named in the update, with Newcastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa also mentioned.
Neto is a man who might really light up St James’ Park going ahead, not just providing tremendous squad depth but also likely being one of the first attacking names on the team sheet.
When he is fit and firing, the Portuguese is a magical footballer to watch – injuries are the only thing that has held him back at times in recent years – and Neto is in scintillating form right now, registering five goal contributions (one goal and four assists) in seven league games this season.
Neto can shine on either the left or right wing, hitting the byline and cutting inside, and his mix of speed, direct running, and an increasingly good final pass makes him a terror for defenders.
Wolves boss Gary O’Neil has stated his admiration for the 23-year-old, recently calling him “incredible,” and while Miguel Almiron, Anthony Gordon, and Harvey Barnes are all excellent possibilities for Newcastle, he may be far superior to any of them. Granted, there is a lot of interest in Neto, and he is expensive, but players may be watching the Magpies right now and thinking it is one of the most exciting clubs in Europe to join, which could increase their chances of signing him.
