José Sá while brilliant is inconsistent and despite his new contract, it is unlikely he spends the tail end at Wolves.

Under him, Daniel Bentley and Tom King are both no first choice standard, and aged 30 and 28 respectively aren’t expected to improve.

Due to these reasons, Wolves are believed to have been in the market for an exciting young goalkeeper last summer.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano who claims Guillaume Restes was a player Wolves had bid for.

Romano on Guillaume Restes to Wolves

Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano reported on X, that Wolves were keen on 18-year-old Guillaume Restes from Toulouse. It is said that Old Gold ‘wanted to sign’ the youngster.

However it was also added that Toulouse rejected approaches from the Molineux side during the summer before adding that he is ‘one to watch’.

The Frenchman is a regular for his club in Ligue 1 and is clearly a goalkeeper with a huge future ahead of him.

Who is Restes?

Restes is a French under-21 goalkeeper who has currently got four clean sheets in 11 games.

These have come across the Ligue 1 and Europa League along with also performing under Thierry Henry for France under 21.

Restes boasts a 82% save percentage which ranks in the 99th percentile for his positional peers.

Definitely a goalkeeper we expect will be at one of Europes elite over the next few years given his performances at a really young age.
