Report: After being dismissed by The Dolphins star set to secure a new deal this morning

The new deal for the previously departed Dolphin falls through.

“We’re currently talking to a number of clubs.”

Former Queensland Maroons representative Brenko Lee reportedly failed to get a new contract after being released by The Dolphins.

The outside back has expressed interest in joining Wigan Warriors, Hull Kingston Rovers, Huddersfield Giants, and Leeds Rhinos after being released by The Dolphins.

He played 88 NRL games for the Raiders, Bulldogs, Titans, Storm, Broncos, and Dolphins between his debut with the Canberra Raiders in 2014 and his retirement in 2023.

He also has 100 NRL points (25 tries), one Tonga representative Test, and one appearance for the Queensland Maroons in 2020.

According to League Express, a contract between recently departed Dolphins outside back Brenko Lee and Super League franchise the Catalans Dragons has seemingly fallen through.

The former Queensland Maroons star has emerged as the frontrunner to join the Super League team.

“I won a grand final, a State of Origin series, and was one of the first Dolphins players, all of which I am very proud of.”

“I am looking for a new challenge and Super League is something I have always wanted to test myself in.”

Brenko Lee’s agent, Chris Orr, told News Corp that they are already in talks with a number of clubs.

“We’re currently talking to a number of clubs, including Catalans and Leeds, and there’s a bit of interest,” PSM employee Orr said.

“Brenko helped Wayne and the Dolphins kickstart their NRL campaign, but he now wants a different challenge in the Super League.”
