The Steelers’ defense aims to’set the tone’.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense is strong enough to compensate for the offense’s shortcomings.

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has been one of the best in the NFL so far this season. The unit has been key in the team’s three victories this season, most recently against the Baltimore Ravens.

T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, the NFL’s best linebacker combo, are at the heart of the defense. This season, the tandem has combined for 10 sacks and 34 tackles in five games, and they have been the driving force behind the team’s success.

The Pittsburgh Steelers somehow find themselves in first. Watt and Highsmith are the reasons why

We’d like to set the tone. “We don’t want to sit here and wait for other people to make plays,” Steelers outside linebackers coach Denzel Martin said, according to the team’s website. “We want to be the first players on the field.” We want to be hitting out there. That is part of our plan. Then there are the self-starters, who comprise the entire room. They appear and begin to attack. We’re always on the offensive, whether it’s the run game or the throw game. As a result, we get splash plays.”

Football need a certain amount of “attack mode,” and Highsmith and Watt approximate this. Without it, the Steelers may go winless and be in a far worse situation than they are today.

However, with the club above.500 heading into the bye week, the squad has a shot to be a contender in the second half of the season.
