UPDATE ON THE DETROIT LIONS’ MAJOR INJURY

CJ Gardner-Johnson makes a significant claim regarding injury rehabilitation.
Detroit Lions defender CJ Gardner-Johnson was expected to miss the whole 2023 season after sustaining a torn pec in Week 2, but the veteran is prepared to defy that prediction.

Gardner-Johnson promised to be back in time for the divisional round of the playoffs, if the Lions make it that far. Please be aware that the video contains strong language.

“I’ll be there in the divisional round.” “I’m coming back to tear some s-t up,” Gardner-Johnson remarked.

Gardner-Johnson, a free agent signing in the offseason, had rapidly established himself as a team captain before suffering an injury. The Lions have won without him thus far, as they approach Week 6 with a 4-1 record and a commanding lead in the NFC North.

Gardner-Johnson spent last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he recorded 67 tackles and helped the team win the NFC championship.
