After a season that began with a lot of promise for Washington Commanders fans in the form of new management, reality has hit the fans at FedEx Field hard. The Washington Football Team Has Rebranded as the Commanders - The New York Times

The Commanders were blown out of their own stadium by the Chicago Bears, who had not won a game since 2022, 40-20 on Thursday.

Johnson, who is a part-owner of the team, turned to Twitter to criticize Washington’s performance.

‘The Commanders played with little intensity or fire tonight,’ remarked the Basketball Hall of Famer.

‘We didn’t compete in the first half and trailed 27-3 at halftime. It was too huge a hole to get out of, which is why we lost 40-20.’

The Commanders have lost three straight games after starting the season 2-0 with victories over the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos.

While a 37-3 blowout by the Bills is understandable, and a 34-31 loss to the Eagles is heartbreaking but understandable, being blown out by the league’s poorest team is a roadblock.

They’ll try to reclaim control of their season next week when they visit the Atlanta Falcons.

Commanders make four audacious predictions for their Week 6 encounter against the Falcons.
The Commanders were defeated by the Bears by a score of 40-20 in Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season. Justin Fields, the Bears’ quarterback, and wide receiver DJ Moore connected eight times for 230 yards and three touchdowns. They helped the Bears earn their first victory of the season. On defense, the Commanders struggled with missed tackles and blown coverage. They also failed to force a turnover. Early in the first quarter, Washington also lost two crucial special teams players. The Commanders’ second-half rally fell short. Logan Thomas fumbled, a later drive stalled in the red zone, and Joey Slye missed a 46-yard field goal.
