The fan organization has long pushed for the struggle of the Palestinian people and will do so again in the midst of the Middle East’s continuous tragedy. The Green Brigade has now advised supporters attending next Wednesday’s Champions League match against Atletico Madrid to print out the Palestine flag in order to express their support for the cause. The ultras, however, fear that any broad display of solidarity will be thwarted with UEFA watching, despite Celtic’s long list of previous sanctions meted out by the suits in Nyon. Before the game, the Green Brigade waved flags in favor of Palestine.

before the Kilmarnock game before Israel star Nir Bitton retaliated, claiming fans of his former team were ‘brainwashed’ over their attitude.“As the genocide against Palestinians accelerates,” a statement said, “we once again call on the Celtic support to proudly stand up for the people of Palestine.” We invite all fans to raise the Palestinian national flag against Atletico Madrid on October 25th. This tiny act of solidarity means a lot to individuals who are being subjected to indiscriminate bombing and unspeakable suffering because it shows them they are not alone.

“We are asking the Celtic support to remain true to the founding ethos of the club and to stand on the side of the oppressed. If you are unable to obtain a flag, we would like to encourage people to print the flag on paper or card.

Sadly, it is possible that there may be obstruction against this perfectly legal and entirely justified act of basic humanitarian solidarity. Please be courageous in the face of any such attempt.”
