Nottingham Forest transfer news: Reds continue to want 35-cap Rangers star
Nottingham Forest are still interested in signing Rangers defender Borna Barisic when the transfer window reopens in January. The Reds were connected with a summer bid on the Glasgow giants but decided against it.
According to Team Talk, the Reds are still interested in signing the Croatian left-back. It’s also anticipated that the Ibrox-based club would offer him a new deal in order to keep clubs from higher levels at bay.
Barisic’s contract will expire next summer. As a result, the player will be free to negotiate with other clubs in January, and Forest is still keeping a careful eye on the situation.
Forest still keen to sign Rangers star Barisic
This would undoubtedly be an intriguing one. The 30-year-old has been on the Forest radar for some time, most likely when Ross Wilson joined the club after leaving Rangers.
Several clubs are interested in Barisic, but Rangers would not let him go. When Steven Gerrard was in charge at Ibrox, he described him as “outstanding” and that he was an essential element of the team.
Croatian international with 35 caps joined Rangers in 2018. He’s made 214 appearances for the club, so it’s understandable why Forest are trying to bring in an experienced player on the cheap.
Barisic would be useful on Trentside
