Wolves’ pursuit of Southampton striker Che Adams was updated in a recent Q&A with The Athletic by journalist Steve Madeley. Madeley stated:
“I wouldn’t rule it out entirely but I don’t believe he will be the first-choice option.
“Missing out on Adams in the summer was a blow for Wolves. But the positive is that it gave the recruitment team more time to research alternatives.
“I suspect they will have a bigger list to choose from in January, hopefully with some more exciting and cost-effective options on it.”
The 27-year-old has been a good performer in the final third as he has managed to catch the eye by averaging 1.9 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. Adams can clear a yard of space for himself in order to land several on-target strikes. When he is at the top of his game, he can be a lethal finisher in the final third.
In and around the opposition penalty area, the Scottish forward may even create up a few enticing chances for others around him. He primarily plays as a center-forward, although he can also fill in as a wide player on either flank if needed.
Adams will bolster Wolves manager Gary O’Neil’s assault. He has the potential to become a true star at the West Midlands club in the future. As a result, Wolves should concentrate on completing a deal for him.
