The Forest man joined the team after Nahuel Molina got injured. Lionel Scaloni jumped into his squad, handing Montiel a rare Argentina start.
Forest signed the Sevilla defender in the offseason. He joined the club when the Reds discovered a vacancy at right-back, and he is battling with Serge Aurier for a spot in Steve Cooper’s lineup.
Forest will suffer if the Argentine is ruled out for an extended period of time. After Aurier limped out of the game against Crystal Palace, Forest will not want to lose another full-back.

Montiel is only just getting his feet under the table at Forest. He’s made four outings, the greatest of which came against Palace when he came on at halftime to replace the injured Aurier.
Given that Forest already has reservations about the Ivorian, they won’t want Montiel to stay absent for too long.
Neco Williams is with the team, but he hasn’t been in Cooper’s plans in recent weeks. If Montiel’s prognosis is negative, the Welshman may be called into action.
Cooper will keep his fingers crossed for Montiel for the time being. He’ll want to have as many quality players as possible at his disposal this season, and the international defender is one of them.
