Another set back for Miami Dolphins as they face difficulties

FLORIDA’S MIAMI GARDENS — The return of Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey made headlines in this area this morning.

But by midday, there were plenty of other topics to discuss. Based on player attendance at Dolphins practice on Wednesday, the majority of it was not positive.

We have all the news from around the league to keep you up to date, including the most recent NFL standings, club depth charts, and coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL calendar!

Practice report for the Miami Dolphins: Kendall Lamm is one of the absentees
The Dolphins’ top (available) cornerback, Xavien Howard, and two offensive line starters, Kendall Lamm and Connor Williams, were among the players not seen during the portion of practice that was open to reporters.

Report on the Miami Dolphins’ brief practice: Jalen Ramsey (age 5) is back. Kendall Lamm, Alec Ingold, Xavien Howard, Connor Williams, or Chris Brooks were not present.

The absence of Williams and Howard was anticipated. Both have groin issues, and Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said they wouldn’t be participating in practice on Wednesday.

Lamm, on the other hand, surprised me more. In the Dolphins’ Week 6 victory over the Carolina Panthers, he took part in all 67 of the snaps. When the team releases its Wednesday injury report, we’ll learn more about the specifics of his injury (whether he actually has one or just took the day off).

It would be important if he and Williams were unable to play against the Eagles for whatever reason. As Terron Armstead will be out for at least another two weeks with an ankle injury, third-stringer Kion Smith will likely start at left tackle. The team’s backup center is Liam Eichenberg.

If Howard is unable to go, the backup CB options are not any better. Ramsey was back at practice on Wednesday, but McDaniel declared him unable to play this week.

Eli Apple, Cam Smith, Parry Nickerson, Kelvin Joseph, Justin Bethel, and Nik Needham—who is still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list but has been practicing—are the Dolphins’ possibilities at boundary corner opposite Kader Kohou against A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and the Eagles’ offensive. Nik Needham is still listed as PUP but has been practicing.

Fullback Alec Ingold and running back Chris Brooks were two additional Dolphins players who were not visible during Wednesday’s viewing period.
