Jackson, a 14-year veteran, will miss Sunday’s game against Kansas City as well as a Monday Night Football game against Buffalo on Nov. 13 following the Broncos’ bye week. He’ll be able to return to practice on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and will be cleared to play that weekend against Minnesota.

Jackson will also suffer financial consequences as a result of the downsizing. A two-game suspension will cost him $279,444 in game checks, rather than double that amount, based on his base pay of $2,515,000.

Jackson was ejected for the second time this season, prompting the league’s ban on Monday. The most recent was for a hit on Green Bay tight end Luke Musgrave. Over Denver’s first six games, Jackson was fined four times for unnecessary roughness, totaling $89,670. Three of those incidents involved head impacts. Then, on Sunday, he hit Musgrave, who was considered a defenseless receiver.

After the Sunday hit, Broncos players and renowned analysts including as former Seattle CB Richard Sherman rallied to Jackson’s defense.
