‘Fine with me.’ Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz was enraged at a disputed ruling in the Hawkeyes’ loss to the Gophers.

All is just the latest player to have an injury on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Cade McNamara is having season-ending knee surgery and fellow tight end Luke Lachey is also likely to miss the season with an ankle injury. Iowa already struggles to score points and losing these weapons will just make it more difficult. The Hawkeyes have historically relied heavily on tight ends in their offensive scheme so losing All has a massive effect on the ability to move the ball.Luke Lachey, Iowa, Tight End

Can Iowa Compete In The Big Ten West?

The good news for the Hawkeyes is they beat Wisconsin today who was one of the main rivals for the division crown. In true Iowa fashion, a strong defensive performance along with just enough juice on offense gave the team a good victory on the road. The rest of the games on the schedule are also very winnable. Minnesota, Northwestern, Rutgers, Illinois, and Nebraska are the remaining opponents on the schedule. It is conceivable that the Iowa Hawkeyes could represent the Big Ten West in the conference championship. The bad news for the team is they would be heavy underdogs to whoever comes out of the Big Ten East.

There is still a chance that Erick All will be back this season. He will undergo further testing this week to determine how long he will be out. If he is out for a long period of time, the Iowa Hawkeyes defense will have more pressure put on them for the rest of the season.
