Hull FC have three stars ruled out and two doubts for the Sheffield

Hull City duo Ruben Vinagre and Harry Vaughan will be assessed ahead of their Yorkshire derby with Sheffield Wednesday. Left-back Vinagre, a summer signing from Sporting Lisbon, is nursing a minor thigh problem while midfielder Vaughan sat-out their midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Doncaster Rovers due to an ankle problem.Ruben Vinagre set for return to Wolves starting line-up | Football News | Sky Sports

Head coach Liam Rosenior told our sister title Hull Live: “Harry’s touch and go. We’ll assess him tomorrow (Friday) as we’ve still got that extra day. The same with Ruben. It was always the plan to give him 45 minutes (against Doncaster) but he’s felt his thigh.

“He’s another one that we’re building up from not having a full pre-season and he’s someone that we have to be really careful with. To be honest, with where Ruben was in terms of his pre-season, I expected him to miss Norwich in terms of the plan we’ve had with him to build him up in training and playing games.

“He’s come back in such a good place. To be honest, he’s not shown the best version of himself yet but I know he will, but it takes time. The same for Aaron Connolly, the same for Oscar [Estupinan], the same for Adama [Traore] as well.”Adama’s not been at his best, it’s not his fault, he just hasn’t had the minutes or game exposure that he needs. It takes six games for all of us, I’m happy and I’ve got a lot of belief in this group.”
