Raptors Injury Report Is Updated As Team Opts to Take It Slow With Otto Porter Jr.

The Toronto Raptors will be missing Otto Porter Jr. and maybe Precious Achiuwa against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.

The Toronto Raptors will take their time with Otto Porter Jr. to begin the season.

Porter made his season debut against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night after missing the first four games of the season. Porter hadn’t played in the NBA in over a year after a toe injury ended his season on November 14.

“I didn’t think it was fair to throw him out there and play games with him.” He was medically capable. But he went through a bunch of play groups over the last seven days and looked extremely good,” Raptors coach Darko Rajakovi said Wednesday night after a rout of the Bucks. “He’s getting his legs under him. And when he’s ready to play, he’s a fantastic player who can assist us.”

Porter played over 16 minutes against the Bucks, scoring six points and posting a plus-11 rating.

However, with a back-to-back in Philadelphia on Thursday night, Toronto has ruled Porter out as he works his way back into game shape, the team revealed.

The Raptors will also be without Precious Achiuwa, who is questionable with a left groyne strain. With the injury, he has missed Toronto’s last two games and has missed the most of the preseason.

Christian Koloko is also still out for Toronto due to a respiratory ailment.

Meanwhile, the 76ers will only be missing Nicholas Batum, who is attending to a personal matter.
