Barrett, who was injured after he was tackled by three Wolverines, was given an air cast and was wheeled off the field on a cart. Take a look at the injury at the bottom of this post.

Several of Barrett’s teammates and coaches rushed up to console him before he left the field, as did Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner in a very noble move.

Fans at Ohio Stadium greeted their star redshirt freshman with a standing ovation as he exited the field.

Lathan Ransom of the Ohio State football team departs the Rose Bowl with an apparent significant leg injury.
PASADENA, California — Ohio State football’s already weakened defense took another setback in Saturday’s Rose Bowl loss to Utah.

C.J. Stroud’s 50-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba had brought Ohio State within 21-14. But Utah’s Britain Covey returned the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown, restoring the score.

Even worse, safeties Ryan Batsch and Lathan Ransom were slow to get up on the play. Batsch eventually limped off, but Ransom stayed down. Athletic trainers fitted his left leg with an air cast and he was carted off the field.

After the game, Ohio State defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs revealed Ransom sustained a fracture that will require surgery and keep him out until the spring.

Ransom did not start, but he was the first cover safety to enter the game since regular starter Marcus Williamson was unable to play. This season, he appeared in all 13 games and recorded 38 tackles, five pass breakups, and a sack.
