What a sad news hull fc reveal a strong injury update against

Tony Smith has provided an injury update on Hull FC half-back Jake Trueman.

The 24-year old left the field during yesterday’s defeat to Warrington Wolves at the MKM Stadium.

Speaking after the game, Smith said: “Jake has gone straight to the hospital. The doctor is pretty confident that he has ruptured his Achilles, so it’s a fairly significant one for Jake after starting the season late.

“We’re all feeling for him at the moment. It does put some things into perspective. It will be a test of character, and he’ll come through that as he’s a terrific young man. He’ll be hurting a lot there tonight.

“He’s one of our generals, and he has a big say in what we do. We are going to miss him, and did today. That’s the test of Super League. When you don’t have some of your best and most crucial players, can you still hold your gloves up and come away with the money? For us, that was a no today, but hopefully next week it’s a yes.”

Smith looked ahead to next weekend’s fixture against Leeds Rhinos at the MKM Stadium, with the boost of a returning Danny Houghton to the squad.

“We’d certainly like a big body back and an experienced head. We’ll have Danny back next week. He’ll be fine with his head injury assessment protocols done.

“Unfortunately, we won’t have Carlos due to suspension. There’s another old, mature head we’d have liked to have out there, and that was lacking at times. The lack of us managing the game at times hurt us as well.”
