Tennessee Titans with the Minnesota Vikings, but given the circumstances, received good news.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the injury has been identified as an lateral collateral ligament (LCL) sprain and should keep Burks out only a few weeks. There was concern for Burks after he was carted off the field.
The scare occurred after he came down with a deep catch in the end zone and came down awkwardly on his leg. He got up limping, then shortly fell to the ground. According to multiple reports, star teammates DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry came over to console Burks.
“He seemed, obviously, upset, and understandably so,” quarterback Ryan Tannehill told reporters following the practice. “Thoughts and prayers are with him right now, and hopefully it’s not too bad.”
Burks was drafted 18th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft following three seasons at Arkansas, where he had 2,399 receiving yards and 18 touchdown catches from 2019-21.
Burks caught 33 passes for 444 yards and 1 touchdown as a rookie with the Titans. He missed than one month of play last season with a turf toe injury.
