Latest news:Parrametta coach finally divulged the future of two vital players

Cameron Smith has dissected Parramatta’s recent performances highlighting their weaknesses and what they need to work on having lost three of their last four games.

The Eels have earned themselves an unfortunate label for being known as a team that struggles when it really counts.

In an interview on SEN 1170’s Breakfast with Vossy Smith unravelled the Eels’ woes and why they arise.

“It’s an unwanted tag that they’ve received over the last few years,” Smith said.

“Where they’ve just started the season so well and been in a great position heading into that Origin period and on the back half they just seem to struggle.

“There’s been a big out with Mitchell Moses with the back injury, but they’ve still got a quality line up.

Smith believes physical and aggressive defence causes Parramatta to differ from their game plan.

“I called a game a fortnight ago when they played against Canberra,” Smith said.

“The way they played in the first 10-15 minutes it just looked like they have they game sewn up quite easily.

“But what Canberra did to them was apply so much defensive pressure and played aggressively.

“It sort of upset the style of footy that they like to play.

“It just seems as though whenever a team plays that physical defensive style against Parramatta,

“They just struggle to get into their game plan or settle into a groove.

“As far as finding a new coach, I think that’s going too far. I think Brad Arthur is doing a pretty good job there at the moment.”

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will kick off Parramatta’s tough run of fixtures this Friday for Round 21.
