Sad news for colts

Following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury, the Browns have three quarterback choices.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will miss the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury. Cleveland will start youngster Dorian Thompson-Robinson at quarterback for the time being. Browns general manager Andrew Berry, on the other hand, stated that the team “will add a quarterback at some point in the near future.”

Here are three possibilities for Cleveland:

Matt Ryan is a CBS Sports analyst.
Ryan is now a CBS Sports TV analyst, but he never formally retired from the NFL. His contract allows him to leave the booth for another chance to play.

As a starter for the Colts in 2022, he had 14 touchdown passes but 13 interceptions, which was one of the main reasons the organisation released the 38-year-old former Falcons great. He did, however, have a completion percentage of 67%, which was slightly higher than his career average.

Playing for a playoff contender like Cleveland, which has the NFL’s strongest defence statistically, may be enough to entice the 2016 NFL MVP to return. Ryan and the Falcons wasted a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI, losing in overtime to the Patriots. Perhaps he’ll be able to return to another Super Bowl with the Browns.

Nick Foles | Out of the NFL

Could Foles work his magic again?

The 34-year-old took over for an injured Carson Wentz in 2018 and guided the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl LII victory over the Patriots. Foles was named Super Bowl MVP, but he never returned to that level again.

Following the magical season in Philadelphia, Foles bounced from the Jaguars (2019) to the Bears (2020-21) to the Colts (2022).  The Browns are far more talented than the last three teams Foles played with in the NFL.

Foles apparently has time on his hands. “I’m not doing anything drastic right now,” he told the “Up & Adams” podcast during the summer.

| Colt McCoy Leaving the NFL
McCoy, a third-round pick by Cleveland in 2010, was a dependable backup in the NFL for 13 years. He last played for the Cardinals in 2021-22, completing 15 of 20 passes for 1,520 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. His time with the Browns, on the other hand, may be the greatest of his career, which is why Browns fans may embrace a reunion.

From 2010 to 2012, the 37-year-old tossed for 4,388 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions with the Browns. Cleveland may stick with Thompson-Robinson, who will start against the Steelers in Week 11. If he stumbles, the Browns may consider bringing in a veteran to lead a win-now squad.
