In their narrow defeat to the Los Angeles Rams, Jamal Adams’ presence was badly missed. The Seattle Seahawks secondary needed a lift to stop Matthew Stafford’s air assault, and few individuals stepped up to the plate. This is why, according to Brady Henderson of ESPN, Pete Carroll was quick to proclaim that they are anxious to bring Adams back from his injury.
“We’re attempting to reclaim him. We’ll find out soon enough. He was attempting to get it right. He couldn’t seem to get ready for this game, and it was close, but he couldn’t pull it off. So we’ll see what happens this week,” said Seahawks coach Pete Carroll after his team was defeated in overtime by Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
Pete Carroll’s secondary allowed 291 total yards with a 4.6 average yardage throughout the contest. Even without Jamal Adams, they were able to force a sack and intercept a pass. Geno Smith only needed a little more effort from the Seahawks defense to end the game, but it did not happen.
Their night concluded with a late-game Rams offensive surge that Seattle couldn’t stop. The Seahawks were doomed after allowing Darrell Henderson a one-yard run. Lucas Havrisik ended the night with a 22-yard field goal, biding the Adams-less squad good night. Will they be able to reclaim the safety in time to make a playoff run?
