JUST NOW: Jacksonville Jaguars have released a injury reports which 3 big names, major players

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been without cornerback Tyson Campbell at several points of the regular season, and they may not have him back against the Houston Texans in Week 12. Campbell didn’t suit up for practice Wednesday, and based on comments made by head coach Doug Pederson, he may be a long shot to play in the divisional bout.

Head coach Doug Pederson told the local media Wednesday that Campbell is day-to-day but he’s getting work this week. Meanwhile, defensive end Davon Hamilton continues his acclimation after missing a good chunk of the season.

Tyson, he’ll get some work this week, we’ll see where he’s at. Day-to-day, feeling better,” Pederson said. “DaVon Hamilton, same thing. We keep working him and getting him more practice reps, make sure he’s feeling good, maintaining his strength, and getting all that back.”

Campbell hurt his hamstring in Week 6. He returned against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 but re-injured the hamstring. He did not partake in practice prior to last week, so having him back, even in a limited capacity, is a step in the right direction. However, he was listed as a non-participant Wednesday.

On the other hand, DaVon Hamilton was placed on Injured Reserve with a non-football injury to start the season. He was activated for Week 10 but was a healthy scratch against the Tennessee Titans. This was a bit surprising since he had appeared on the injury report prior to the days preceding the game. Following the win, Pederson said that he wanted “Hamilton to be mentally and physically ready to go,” but didn’t get into details.

Besides Campbell, defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris and wide receiver Zay Jones also popped up on the Injury Report, albeit as limited participants. Both of them played last week, so barring a setback, they should suit up for the Week 12 divisional bout.

The Jaguars are in good shape, even without Tyson Campbell vs. the Texans

Having Zay Jones back in the mix opened things up for the Jaguars’ offense. Although he only had four catches for 20 yards, his presence drew coverage away from fellow wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who finished the game with seven catches for 103 yards with two touchdowns. That said, he’s still recovering from the knee injury he suffered early in the week, so it makes sense for training staff to give him a limited workload in practice.

It’s also good to see that the Jaguars aren’t trying to rush Tyson Campbell back. He already re-injured his knee, so giving him time to recover is the sensible approach. But even if he doesn’t suit up, the secondary should be in good shape. Sophomore Montaric Brown has been feeling in for him and has overall done a solid job. Against the Titans, he played 95 percent of the Jaguars’ defensive snaps and nearly came away with an interception. He should continue to get better as he gets more playing time.

All things considered, the Jacksonville Jaguars are relatively healthy ahead of their matchup against the Houston Texans.
